Instructor Cap Raeder Tampa Bay Lightning Goaltending Coach, Cap Raeder will be at the Governor's Academy teaching Goalies: Cap has been a Goaltending Coach in the NHL for over 20 years. A
precise tactician, Cap has been an integral part of the development
of several NHL star goalies, such as former Calder Trophy winner (NHL
Rookie of the After starring (All-American) at the University of New Hampshire
in 1974, Cap went on to play for the Hartford Whaler’s in the
World Hockey Association, a rival league to the NHL, boasting stars
such as Bobby Instructor Mike Buckley The area’s top pro, college, junior, high school, prep and youth hockey goalies choose Mike Buckley for the proven success of his systematic approach to goaltending. The system builds on the six core fundamentals of goaltending; skating, stance, positioning, save selection, rebound control and recovery. Mike has a system for each, properly developing goaltenders, while allowing goalies to develop their own style based on their strengths, creating quick efficient movements and confidence in their game. This trendsetting approach to training goalies is quickly changing the way goaltenders are taught. Mike is the first to implement this system making him a pioneer in the position. Mike has more than 10 years of coaching experience. His year-round
private and summer students include Dan Ellis (Nashville Predators),
Mike Morrison (Bridgeport Tigers/New York Islanders), Jeff Pietrasiak
(Texas Wildcatters), Jean-Marc Pelletier, Andy Chiodo, Chanda Gunn
and college goaltenders from BC, UNH, UMass, Vermont, Merrimack, Brown,
Northeastern, Quinipiac, UConn, Salem State, Southern New Hampshire,
Cap and Mike will be supported by a very experienced staff of goalie coaches, including Corey Hirsch, Tony Martino and John Haley.
